Quickbooks and bank synching

I'm setting things up to run with quickbooks for all of my accounting. I see there's an option to sync / download data from the bank for checking accounts, which could be quite valuable.

For this service, my present bank charges what I feel is an excessive monthly fee. I know there's programs to download the data and convert it to qb format, etc but would rather avoid that if at all possible.

Is anyone else using this feature and getting it for a reasonable cost or closer to, if not free? How's it working? Which bank are you using that gives it away or prices it more reasonably?

thanks!
