Gold Vs Stocks Vs Cash

This is an analysis of the real and nominal returns of gold vs stocks, vs cash. My hypothesis was that Gold would obviously be a worse long-term investment. While we see that over truly long periods (greater than 30 years), Gold seems to perform worse than stocks, we have limited samplings. This data is further hindered by it's ties to USD, which have a history of being tied to gold. I don't believe that this dataset backs my hypothesis necessarily, especially when it comes to recent history. Would love feedback.

Interesting info and great work. Gold bugs would argue that the value of gold never changes, and instead it is the dollar that has changed in value. As an example of this, gold measured in US dollars has plummeted since 2011 but measured in Euros has soared. Europeans would be sitting pretty while Americans not so much.
