My roommate and I recently moved out after 6 years of living in our apartment. Axel managed the property for the last 2 years, and they are the absolute worst property management that we've dealt with. Trying to get any repairs done was basically impossible. We put many requests in through the tenant portal and would never hear anything back for at least a few months. Whoever the lady is that answers the phone when you call the office has a horrible attitude and is ridiculously unprofessional, and needs to be replaced. I would not recommend that anyone consider renting the East 4th Street apartments in Bethlehem. Save your money and your sanity.

Absolutely rude I called about a tour and someone named Jennifer was very rude and told me I needed to pay to get pre qualified in order to even see an updated version of the apartment. After me explaining that we don’t even know if that’s the right place for us she just hung up. Honestly i thought that was very rude of her and would not even want to rent that place or recommend to anyone else to wants to rent with them, they just want all the money they can get first hand and won’t even let you see if the apartments are updated and look like the pictures online.

We are very pleased with our experience with Axel property Management! Our son rented from Axel in Junior and senior year. The properties they manage all have very high standard, modern, sleek, clean, designed with student's needs in mind. We felt in love with the first apartment we saw, our son loved his apartment so much that he stayed few weeks extra after graduation! We especially appreciate all the help that the office manager Genie gave us! She could always be reached, she stayed on top of things, she tried to accommodate all our needs, in this era of answering machines and AI generated responses, it feels good knowing that she is always there and ready to help! If my son ever goes back for grad school or my younger one decides to study in Lehigh in the future, we will definitely rent with Axel again!

We have rented from Axel Property Management for 1 year (2023 to 2024). The house is very run down, filthy wiht basic utilities like heating does not work, washing machine broken, front door with gaping hole (security concern) and some minor problems. The main problem with Axel property management is the customer service and responsiveness to problems. The manager that we are told we must work with is Gene who is very rude. I was told by Gene that I was bothering her too much when asked to get the door fixed for security issues (this took months to fix by Axel PM). At least 3 service reports and many phone calls were made during the month of January and Feb to beg and request the heat be fixed. The only way the heat would be addressed by Axel PM was after the city was called and they were threatened by the City of Bethlehem to fix the heat. After one attempt to fix the heat, the fire department had to be called because oil was spilled all over the basement. we have had no positive interactions with Axel PM and Gene has been especially rude and difficult to work with. I would strongly recommend not renting from Axel PM. My childs first year away from home at college was such a horrible renters experience because of Axel PM and Gene.
See photo of hole in the door that was unfixed for months.

Axel Property Management is an excellent company to deal with. They were very straightforward about everything and worked with me to get me in the apartment. Jennifer did a very thorough and meticulous job assisting me in the process. If you all are looking for a place to rent, I can, hands down, vouch for Jennifer.

We got fast and very efficient service from Jennifer Greenberg. She was extremely helpful during the procedures of filling out paperwork and understanding everything that it entailed. Overall she made the experience of finding a new home feel like a walk in the park. Definitely recommend

Having Axel manage my portfolio was one of the biggest mistakes I made in my life. They mismanaged everything, from fixing any issues that tenants called for to getting any decent tenants in the first place. They put 9 people in a 3 bedroom apartment which then after 6 months destroyed the entire place. I’ve been a landlord for 10 years now and never came across these issues that Axel put me through. I have pictures to prove everything! This company cost me a lot of money and set me back years. They only care about money and never have the best interest for their investors.

Axel Properties is the worst renting experience I have had in my life. Our heating system broke in the winter and, despite us calling several times and leaving voicemails, we didn't hear anything - they called back after we called the police, though. They didn't give us our security deposit for longer than the allotted period after the end of the lease. If you called and asked, they would just hang up on you (once again, several times) and roommate had to get a tenant law lawyer. If there was an issue, we couldn't count on them. The previous property manager was much better. I would rather live in a cardboard box than rent from this abysmal "company" again.
