I would strongly advise not renting a unit from Aligned Properties Group. I did not have the best experience from day 1. I moved to Cleveland from Dayton and signed a lease with a move in date of November 1, 2022 as the date got closer I was advised that the current tenants needed to stay longer and I was not able to move in until November 15, 2022. During the 15 day gap I had to bounce around to different AirBNB's so I would have a place to stay since I didn't know anyone in town. The poor/lack of communication was also a problem from the beginning. Getting someone to come and do maintenance on the house was an absolute nightmare. The fridge in the unit went out and luckily I had one of my own and was able to replace it. I left the house cleaner than when I moved in and was charged a cleaning fee from my deposit. I also left the fridge there for them since we didn't need it at our new place and a dryer for them to keep. I was also charged for repairs on the house that were normal wear and tear. The house has plaster walls and there were cracks all the way throughout, I was charged for the repair of plaster falling off the walls which is clearly from the house being old. I did leave behind a couple items, that they had to move out, or could have left for new tenants as it was all usable items, with the exception of a mattress and box spring but out of my $1300 deposit they are only giving me back $185 which is a joke. I expected to not get all my money back back not $185 out of $1300. I called to office to discuss this with someone, left 2 messages and got no reply. I finally decided to text the number that had texted me about my move out and got a message saying, "you are welcome to send questions here" there was no apology for not being contacted beforehand. After sending my questions I got a reply saying a follow-up email has been sent, which still didn't answer my questions so I asked more and have yet to get a rely. I have rented for the last 10 years and have never had this kind of experience with a landlord before. I would advise you to thoroughly do your research before moving into one of Nathans places before doing so.
Update: I finally received a text back after I'm assuming this review was looked at saying that Nathan was going to work with me on the deposit but now he can't. Professionalism is clearly not a characteristic that Nathan seems to have.

Moved into one of their units 11/9 and from the person showing the house being unknowledgeable about the property, to the property being received in filthy conditions, to the poor communication by the management team, to the lack of response by the maintenance team, we have had nothing but a poor experience with Aligned Property Management so far! I’ve dealt with slumlord management groups like them before, 100% believe all the other bad reviews based on my experience so far with this company. If we left this property in exactly the same conditions that we got it in, they would 100% be trying to keep our deposit and charge us for damages and cleaning, but they gave it to us like that. SMH

RENTERS BEWARE: I moved out of their unit may 31st 2024, I was told by them my deposit would be returned in 30 days, money still has not been returned. Its September now and they will not even return my phone calls, just called before writing this review. There was 0 damage to the property and could have been rented right back out. I have photos and messages to prove this. I just want my money back!
Update after this review thats what they texted me and hasn't answered me back. I just want my money back.
9/11 talk to the owner of the house whom referred me back to aligned. Aligned still have no said anything back to me regarding my 800.00 deposit. My rent was never late and as seen in the pictures the space was left clean. I just want my money back.
9/21/24 Aligned was absolutely managing the property when I moved out and they are the ones that SHOULD HAVE RETURNED MY MONEY. I've contacted the owner in effort to get back the money this company should have returned to me. Additionally they sent an email saying i damaged the property which was not true. I moved out in May however i was not removed from their system until August. They had months to return my money. Aligned mismananged my deposit, and ignored my emails for months. only started answering after this review. Only rent from them IF YOU HAVE 0 other OPTIONS!!!!!!!
1/7/25 still have not got my money back they mishandled almost a year after I've moved out. Horrible company

Loved working with Nate, his wealth of knowledge and experience with rental properties in unmatched!
Nate met with me and walked me through the entire process of preparing a property as a rental unit and developed a strategy and checklist for moving forward. There were so many details he brought to my attention that I would never have thought of.
Additionally his resources and network for home repair and painting etc were wonderful to work with!
Nate is a 1 stop shop for ALL things rental property related.

Update: For privacy reasons, I am posting on behalf of a current tenant at aligned. They have received the photos attached on multiple occasions so they’re very familiar with the issue.
Makes sense that the positive reviews all come from investors (and employees)! But as a TENANT, If you expect to move into a clean apartment, look elsewhere. If you expect prompt communication, look elsewhere. If you expect DECENT customer service, look elsewhere.
