I’ve been working with Mr. Hampton for a few years now for my personal and business taxes. I must say that I have no regrets. He’s very knowledgeable in the tax code and he’s a collaborative communicator. He makes my life quite thoughtless and easy during tax season. What’s ore important is that gives also me great ideas strategies to use all throughout the year so that tax season is a good season. He’s got a long time customer in me.

I absolutely recommend Bill Hampton and his team for anyone that is looking for very competent representation when it comes to tax strategies in general and investment property in particular. I have rental properties in California as well as Ohio and Bill came highly recommened from a member of BiggerPockets. Intitally I was somewhat skeptical because I had never worked with someone out of state when it comes to having my taxes done. Bill and his team proved to be more than worth it and extremely knowledgeable. I will certainly ustilize him again this year.

Bill with Hampton Tax and Financial Services is very knowledgeable and amazingly thorough. Bill reviewed my 2017, 2018 and 2019 tax returns and found over 13 errors and missed opportunities. Those deductions were worth several THOUSAND DOLLARS!! I highly recommend Bill Hampton and value his tax and financial expertise.

Looking for a CPA? Have complicated taxes, including business, self employment, W2’s etc? Bill Hampton is the guy to go to. We used him for the first time for our 2018 taxes. Even though our taxes are quite complicated he was able to help us get our biggest return yet.

Numbers and I have a hard time communicating. I met with Bill to go over my 2017 return, so I could understand all the numbers for my rental properties and what they mean. He's very knowledgeable and also personable, and also has no problem saying if he doesn't have the answer right away and needs to do some research.
I feel like I have a much better grasp on what to expect when the 2018 return is done (yes, I have an extension), and I feel pretty good about my bookkeeping. The next step for me is turning the bookkeeping into periodic profit and loss reports, and Bill gave me tips and steps on how to do that. Definitely recommended.

I met with Bill yesterday to review my tax returns for 2018 where he pointed 19 Items entries on our return we were not using to claim any deduction. On 2 of our properties, deductions was entered on the wrong line item which has cause us being questioned on our latest loan with the bank.
If you are a real estate investor and want to make sure your not missing out when filing your tax get with Bill before the next tax season.

Updating my review (previously 5-stars) as I can no longer recommend Bill in good faith, as the service I’ve received over the years has significantly declined. Others with negative experiences have commented that he is “arrogant, pompous, isn't responsive, and forgets things that have been discussed multiple times”, and I unfortunately have to cosign now that I had the same experience.
I started working with Bill during the 2020 tax season. Things started off fine, but over time it became obvious that he had no desire to provide good customer service. I initially chalked up the errors made as one offs, but the same mistake (him incorrectly reporting my nondeductible traditional IRA contributions or "backdoor" Roth IRA conversion as a taxable event) resurfaced for the 2021 and 2022 tax season as well. To make matters worse, I would bring this to his attention expecting a quick resolution since we resolved it the year prior, but each year required more extensive discussions/debates to finally get him to correct the issue.
It has only been by my persistence and questioning, that I was able to avoid paying thousands of extra dollars in taxes over the years. I also caught another error during the 2022 tax season that had been occurring since 2020. Bill agreed to amend my 2020 and 2021 taxes at no charge, but after 3 months of patiently waiting, he continued to miss the deadline that he set himself and was unable to provide clear communication after my multiple requests for updates.
I was finally able to get this matter resolved by submitting a dispute with Paypal. I was alerted that my amended tax returns were complete within 24 hours of opening the dispute, despite him telling me that he could not provide me with an estimated time of completion the day before I opened the case. He then attempted to hide the documents from my view behind a pay wall for the amount being disputed and refused to submit the returns to the IRS unless I agreed drop the PayPal dispute. After much back and forth, because I refused to drop the case until I could review the documents and receive confirmation of submission, he finally agreed to submit my amended taxes.
As a person who is actively involved and aware my household's finances, I think Bill's services may be better suited for someone who doesn't mind blindly trusting him. If you need to ask Bill a question, don't expect to receive a personalized response regarding your specific tax situation. Be prepared to receive links to articles that can easily be found on Google, and one that you likely read before reaching out to him with your question. I don't mind paying the high cost for professional services, but in return I expect that the service will make my life easier, not more stressful.
Original Review: My husband and i have worked with Bill for almost a year now. We were introduced to him through our real estate investor network. We initially hired him to assist us with our taxes and most recently we utilized his financial planning services. Bill is an expert in his field. He is great at explaining various concepts no matter how difficult they may be to understand. Since he is a great communicator, I am more confident and knowledgeable about my financial future.
