Interesting experience. I contacted their company to acquire cash to perform some maintenance to my property. Dave responded to my inquiry and asked questions about my credit, experience etc etc…He then mentioned they needed to be in 1st position etc etc...He then said, “I charge $10k on the front of the loan. Idk if that would turn you off or not”. I don’t remember how the conversation ended but I initially agreed to pay… But, when I reflected on the terms. I realized that Dave responded to my inquiry, discovered I was black, sought for a reason to deny my loan, but when he couldn’t he tried tax me an additional $10k. I had my white female friend call him a week later. He was friendly…. Willing to issue the loan. No mention on the 10k.. Same cycle for my white male friend. Idk it seems like covert discrimination to me….
