1 800 Accountants is a company with a multitude of superb staff, but the company lacks coordinated and cohesive client service. Their business model utilizes a large number of Staff to accomplish small portions of the work done for each client. In fact, by the time you manually input the required data and information, you might as well as save a tremendous amount of money and purchase Turbo Tax. There is no one CPA that handles your personal and corporate tax returns. Worse… there is no coordination between staff. I am an engineering educator and have more than 40 years experience in the design of industrial electronics control systems. I am computer literate and guide the development of software development in support of our system designs. I said the above to say that the 1 800 Accountants Web Portal is not user friendly. There are more ads to upsell services than there are instructions and guidance on how to use the portal. In my opinion, the software is poorly designed and very confusing to use. The greatest frustration I’ve encountered is the fact that there is no one CPA that is a go to person for my personal and corporate tax returns. It is as though there are individuals who specialize in very small segments of the work. The lack of a single CPA assigned to me is incredibly frustrating I tried using the online chat. That was a total disaster. It’s like there is an AI application driving the engine and it operates at about 40% knowledge. The Chat was useless and frustrating. The one strength that should be mentioned is that every individual I have spoken with is highly professional, courteous and is sincere. For me… I feel like I’ve wasted between $4,000 to $5,000 for accounting services I most likely will never receive. My CPA of many years died of pancreatic cancer, and a longtime CPA friend who succeeded him has retired. That is why I went looking for a CPA firm. If I can’t find a local CPA, Turbo Tax is looking like a viable option. It is readily apparent the I don’t fit the mold for the 1 800 Accountants business model. The. Old adage of let the buyer be aware sure seems applicable with regard to 1 800 Accountants. Great people, but terrible Company Business Model.

Stay away from this company and their scam tactics (orchestrated by Michael Raymond from 1800 CPA) at all costs. Please note this is the first time I have ever left a bad review about a company in my 20 years in business. I recently signed on with this company. Salesperson said they would break my payment into 2. One payment now and one later with an expectation of 6 months. Without my consent they took the other half 28 days later. I submitted a cancel request because I felt bamboozled subtracting over $1,300 from my account without my consent. Nate in customer service mentioned they would review the sales call and confirm if I was not notified about when the second payment would come out (which is their policy to notify the customer). Nate called me back a week later, apologized and explained they reviewed the call and the salesperson made an error and indeed did not notify me of when the funds would be taken out and he would forward me to Michael Raymond (supervisor and head scammer) to continue the conversation regarding the refund as I no longer wished to continue with their services because how can you truly trust someone after that. When communicating with Michael Raymond I wanted to be fair and said that I would like to be prorated and charged for the 3 meetings I had with the CPA over that first month. Mr. Raymond instead played hard ball and said there would be NO REFUND WHATSOEVER because it was past their 30 day policy. Please understand, it was charged on the 28th day and my request did not come until after the weekend, which is true. No exceptions were made and I'm stuck using their accountant for the rest of the year (insane!). Don't engage in business with this company under any circumstances. I will be filing a formal complaint with the BBO as well.

I tried. I signed up which was pretty fast and easy. After that not much happened. There were a few meeting, but mostly i got messages for things I didn't want or need. I didn't need new tax id numbers- they suggested it several times. When there were things I needed my messages went unanwsered. I canceled my service before the contract period started. Update- They are still writing asking for info and assiging me new specialists after three weeks after I canceled. New Update- They still keep contacting me with reports or requests for info. I even responded to one request asking that they let the company know I canceled. The response I got was something like "I can't contact them to let them know". Lame.

Unprofessional and Unresponsive I had a very disappointing experience with this accounting firm. They withheld a refund despite not performing any services, and I was repeatedly told that management would give me a call back to address the issue. Weeks went by without any follow-up. It’s frustrating to deal with a company that not only fails to provide the services promised but also ignores customer concerns. They will tell you that you missed an appointment without any true record. Michael Richmond - billing manager told me Michael Randolph - lead manager would be calling me in July and I’m still waiting for a call. Also assigned accountant was very rude. I would not recommend this firm to anyone looking for reliable and responsive service. 10/8: just want to keep everyone updated. Haven’t heard from 1-800 accountant yet. They said to give 10-15 businesses days. Stay tuned. 10/31: still haven’t heard back…

HORRIBLE company, the guy we called a year ago to have infos was amazing and promised us tons of services and help, ended being the worse $3k I ever spent. First off they cancel and schedule appointments without notifying anyone, multiple times I schedule appointments and never received a call. They switch my accountant right before tax season and had to do everything again, the new accountant was NEVER available. They don’t anything for you, you basically have to file everything yourself or pay even more to have someone help you. I was supposed to have someone help me plan for next year’s taxes, do quarterly payments, help manage my company taxes well… never happened. It was my first time filling taxes in America since I’m from France, and when I ask for some help to submit my taxes they say “you go on the uscis website” and that’s it. Not to mention that my state taxes came back wrong and I received a letter saying I was owing more. Still wondering what the $3k is for… and funny how all the positive reviews are from people who did NOT use this service and just had a nice call full of promises. Never again.

Do not use - bait and switch. Terrible accountants with terrible service. 1-800Accountant got my tax return completely wrong, to the tune of $9,000. I had to find the mistake and point it out to them. They didn't even apologize. They sent me the draft tax return to review the day taxes were due, even they'd had all my information for months. They don't respond to messages in a timely manner and even removed my advisor from the portal when he left the company without replacing them. What a joke. I'm looking forward to using a real and accurate tax accounting company, not these horrible 1-800Accountant people.

As a small business owner I would say...Save yourself the money and work with a local account that gives you a more personal, respectful, professional, efficient accounting service. Which I did not find her. I've tried working with two different advisors through this company and had the worst experience.
