Chris specializes in residential home buying and commercial real estate. His background in marketing, investments, contracting, and insurance gives him a unique perspective on buying and selling real estate. His clients know they are getting attention to detail that is second to none and that they can feel confident in their purchase. An Iowa native, Chris lived in 6 states before returning to Iowa in 2008. He fell in love with the Ames area and he is a passionate and active member of the Ames and Gilbert Communities assisting with various philanthropic and community events each year. Chris, his wife Lauren, and their two boys, Landry and Carter, reside in Ames. He is a proud member of the Ames Chamber and a Board Member of the Boys and Girls Club of Story County.

Chris and the team did a great job in selling our fraternity house. . Chris was very knowledgeable about the Ames commercial market. I felt confident in his approach and research in his pricing of our property. He was super responsive and communicated in every step of the process. He was willing to help any way possible down to the final details of the clean-out. Chris is charismatic and excited about the real estate business. I would definitely recommend Chris and his team.

Great to work with/ thinks on his feet. First time home buyer. Went through all possible options like small home, large home, farm, apartment building and then some. Chris was helpful at all stages as I figured out what I want and can afford. Thanks, I appreciated it very much.

Chris was extremely helpful to us as first-time homebuyers. He was very responsive and able to answer all of our questions. If he didn't know something about a property, he was sure to find out and get back to us. Chris is friendly, knowledgeable, and easy to work with. Even after closing, Chris has been very accessible and willing to help/answer any follow-up questions we have had.
We love our new home!

Great realtor and property manager . This guy works hard! Worked as my property manager for my apartment while waiting for it to sell. Wish I had always been using him. Definitely had my best interests as a priority. Very polite and real.

Chris is very professional and friendly. This is the first time I purchase a house and know nothing about house (different types of house) and what are the steps involved. Basically Chris guided me along the way and told me what to do. He is very responsive and efficient! He will work with your schedule (I work everyday and we meet after work). Chris is always proactive and checked multiple places with me until I found the one I like. He is very detailed and will offer useful tips and advice. Most importantly, he never gets tired of answering my questions since I have a lot of questions as a first time homeowner from the house to the finance side of it. Again, great service!

My wife and I had a great experience working with Chris to find and buy our home. When we first met with Chris he was available and prioritized our needs to a degree we were very impressed with. Chris was really good about getting to know us and what our needs are. He recognized our timeline and helped us meet our goals. Chris had great recommendations along the way, and worked to show us properties as soon as possible (very fast in all instances). I strongly recommend the services of Chris Betts.

I’ve bought 3 homes in Ames, and find Chris to be super knowledgeable about the real estate market, the ins and outs of the process from market value to insurance details, and how to turn over every rock to find the best option and/or overcome any hurdle that might appear. He’s a good guy to have on your side, and I’d definitely recommend him to my friends and family.
