As a first-time home buyer, I was intimidated by the loan process and knew very little - until I was introduced to Nick. Nick not only shared his wealth of knowledge, but answered all my newbie questions with patience and care, helping me to understand the various financial layers of purchasing a home by breaking down all the numbers in an easily digestible way. He worked with me to carefully define a strategy based on my long and short term goals, offering valuable advice and nimbly tweaking things with me along the way. His expertise and thorough guidance throughout every step of the process made a world of difference in confidently purchasing my first home!

It's difficult to put into words just how much we appreciate Nick Hogue and his staff! I'll do my best to start somewhere, because there are just so many great things to say. He played a commendable role in assisting us in the purchase of our first home, and to put it simply: He's deft. He's thorough. He's dedicated. He's courteous. He's committed, determined, and steadfast. He's patient. He took care of us, honestly. If I might elaborate.... We knew Nick would be a good pairing from the beginning when he said (and I'm paraphrasing, I'm sure): "If you see something you like, even if you think it's above budget, send it over and we'll find out how to make it work." So....we did, and true to his word, so did he. He always knew of a dial to turn, something to tweak, or a method that could get us to what we wanted and how we wanted it. It's something to appreciate, even now in retrospect. We'd see his determination time and again as properties would catch our eye. We'd say "Hey Nick, can we run the numbers on this?" And he would, sometimes within a few hours. Sometimes after hours. Sometimes over a weekend. Even once through illness! He was always willing to explore possibilities and never once flatly told us "no", though I'm sure he knew this was the answer before starting yet another spreadsheet/comparison ( I threw him a couple of zingers :D ). He always did the legwork to show us why a listing wouldn't work, and always did so with compassion. He'd send videos that were easy to follow and we appreciated being able to reference back to it to fully understand the specifics of how the numbers came to be. Not once did we become dismayed with the process, or were we made to feel like we were burdening him. Nick is so pleasant and engaging to talk with, we always looked forward to our conversations :). He's an honest man, standing watch for us on several occasions, but most notably, with one particular listing. We really wanted it (we're still a touch bitter lol). We felt as though everyone on our team really wanted to make it work as well. But as we progressed, it became apparent the listing wasn't for us. The sellers were looking for something else entirely. Despite the constant, HUGE obstacles with this listing, Nick did everything he could to attempt to find a path for us. In the end, as more red flags rose into the wind, the risk was too significant. Nick communicated this delicately but succinctly, and we all moved on. In hindsight, we would've really been in deep had we pursued it further. When the listing that would become our home came up, Nick worked quickly and was able to secure a loan, despite yet more obstacles! While not the most ideal terms, Nick communicated them clearly, and came up with solutions that made it possible. We're so happy in our new, first home, and it was made possible in no small part by Nick and his group! He really seems to enjoy what he does and he does it so well. He was always willing to walk us through the process, discuss terms and strategy, or goals. We consider him to be a master of his craft and as clients, we could not ask for more and feel privileged to have watched him work. We cannot possibly thank you all enough!

So grateful for Nick and his team! We came to Nick in a crunch for time and their team worked tirelessly to see that not only did our loan close on time, but that we had the best possible experience. Buying a home is about as stressful as it gets, especially when it entails a Cross-Country move - about the only smooth part of our transition was working with Nick.
