I wish a 0 star option was available. If you are looking to rent an apartment STAY AWAY from EJF. I've dealt with many different property management companies in DC and EJF by far has the worst maintenance team I have ever dealt with. They never show up when you have something scheduled and then they are impossible to reach to get any updates. Somehow they lost the keys to my apartment and then kept asking me to leave my key for them in the lockbox by my door (which has a dead battery and was never fixed even though I mentioned it to them many times). Finally I told them I would leave my key for them one last time for them to take and make copies. Not even a month later they asked me to leave my key again for them (in the non functioning lockbox) because they somehow lost the keys they had just made. I had to get them to rekey the whole apartment because it became a safety issue. Currently I have an issue where a circuit went out in my apartment which killed all the lights in my living room, bedroom, and kitchen along with my stove and oven. A vendor was scheduled the following day to come and they told me that they went to EJF to retrieve the keys to the property but EJF said they couldn't give it to them and then they were rescheduled for the following day and never showed up and then there were no updates given to me on why. I had to call and email multiple times and talk to multiple different departments to try and get an answer and all I was told was that they were waiting to hear from the owner. I had to spend Christmas without any lights or the ability to cook. (Is this really how you guys treat your tenants?) I was finally able to get ahold of someone over a week after the request was put in and turns out the reason they didn't give the vendor the key was because THEY MISPLACED THE KEYS AGAIN. It is genuinely shocking how unreliable and inept this company is. My apartment is being switched to a new property management company and I have never been so relieved. I had friends warn me about EJF and I wish I would have listened to them before I signed. Save yourself the headache and STAY AWAY FROM EJF.

The home is immaculate and very modern. The whole team that I worked with to achieve this home was from the best service I’ve encountered thus far. May and Josephine were very kind and eased my mind all the way to the end until I moved in. KUDOS!!

A couple days prior to our property manager informing us of departing tenants and damage to our property, I contacted EJF property management services. Conrad helped us get started within a day, and the whole team helped us rent the space after all the repairs within a few days. The team is very responsive and guides you throughout the process. This is a company I highly recommend!

My experience with EJF as a tenant has been positive thus far, with friendly communication and quick responses to maintenance requests. They do a great job confirming appointments and rescheduling if need be. Althea Comidoy helped me with my recent request and reached out to be sure all was well once the job was done. In my time living in DC, this has been the best property management company I've worked with.

I've had a fantastic experience with this rental company. Their service is always organized, fast, and efficient, making everything hassle-free. The team consistently provides great support, and I especially appreciate their attentiveness when it comes to maintenance. Paul Manangbao, the Maintenance Coordinator, has been excellent—he regularly follows up on any issues to ensure they're resolved quickly and everything is working properly. Overall, the company is professional and truly focused on their tenants' needs. I highly recommend them!

EJF bought the company that previous managed my condo rental and thank goodness they did. Since then they have helped me bring the 2 bedroom unit up to today's standards, helping me with remodeling and ensuring that everything is in working condition and all DC statutes and ordinances are followed. By keeping the unit occupied with great tenants I have been able to afford to keep the unit in perfect condition and make appropriate investments in improvements and repairs when needed. Everyone at EJF is competent, diligent, friendly, courteous and helpful. They respond promptly when I have a question or need help and they are on top of everything that goes on in the unit and the building for my benefit as well as the tenants'. I have been very satisfied with the service they have provided.
