Morning Rituals: The Single Most Important Thing I Do Each Day

Want to know what I believe is the single most critical driver behind my success (if you want to call it that)?

Whether it’s staff, people I coach and/or mentor, or just friends, there’s one insanely powerful tool I share with all. It’s a tool that not only creates a mind-bending “Aha!” moment, it’s literally life-changing!

If you know me, you know exactly where I’m going with this. If you don’t, stick with me—it’s worth your time.

I’ve used it with a World Cup player who was a long shot to make the roster. (Now he’s the best player on the team.)

I’ve passed this technique onto a CIA agent turned healer. (Hit her up and ask her yourself.)

And it’s worked for a tech CEO who just raised over $1 million.

I’ve even used it with a billionaire developer who shall remain nameless.

Hack the Law of Attraction, Get What You Want

Ever heard of the law of attraction? Or have you ever read by Napoleon Hill? Well, the law of attraction is the principle behind it.

And the technique—for lack of a better word—”hacks” that by supercharging your energetic vibration into a cosmic force of nature that delivers to you exactly what you want.

It might sound too good to be true. But here are some examples of it working.

I manifested a high-rise, a bestselling book on hacking wealth, and an appearance on the cover of a huge magazine in my home country of Denmark.

I was delivered the sickest dream team, consisting of a top young entrepreneur, the lead of an insane riverfront redevelopment project in New Jersey, and the largest fund manager in Denmark—two of only 26 black women to ever raise $1 million.

Lots of people have heard of and are under the impression the law of attraction means just thinking about stuff you want and it happens.

But without getting into too much detail, there’s actually a _formula _that triggers a metaphysical, universal process (similar to the ancient concept of prayer) that manifests whatever your mind focuses on with great emotion.

How the Ritual Works

So, here’s how it works. This ritual is actually a variation of author Brian Tracy’s goal-setting technique—but with a twist I discovered randomly.

I’m already a pretty solid “manifester.” But suddenly I noticed I was starting the day as if I were floating, walking with an unshakable purpose that made me feel almost invincible.

Heck, things started happening randomly in ways that made no sense. Here’s what I was doing differently on those days.

The Formula to Manifesting What You Want

Step 1: Using an action verb, write 10 to 15 “commands.” These should be goals in the present tense, starting with the word “I.” They should be quantifiable and have a hard deadline that’s inside the next 12 months.

For instance:

  • I earn $25,000 every month by September 30
  • I close my first real estate deal by August 1
  • I drive a Mercedes AMG GLE 43 Coupe by November 1

And so on. You have to do this daily for 30 days. And do not change your list unless something manifests beforehand.

Step 2:  As you write each one down, visualize each until it _feels _real.

That may be tough for some at first. For those who are skeptical by nature, it’s easier to visualize all the “bad” things about whatever it is that you want. For instance, you might think about all the irritating tenant calls you’re gonna get or annoying parking tickets in your Benz.

Instead I recommend making each one feel real by visualizing what you’d be grateful for. You’ll be happier that way.

But as long as you feel it as if it were real, that is the very moment your desire has been created in the orbit.

Now, you just have to wait for it to manifest in your physical reality.

Step 3:  Find a buddy, partner, or colleague who’s just as serious about wealth and success as you are. Keep each other accountable.

Send your commands to your accountability buddy by 8 a.m.

This is important! If you or your friend is late—even by one second—send them a $5 Venmo request. They gotta pay. And so do you.

NO EXCUSES. Deaths, alarms, work, doesn’t matter.

No. Excuses. Five bucks! Ante up.

This amount is low enough that you can afford it, but it also helps keep you accountable.

Summary of the Formula

So, the first step includes finding quantifiable, measurable things you want more than anything in the world and writing them down.

The second step involves visualizing each until it feels real, then moving on to the next.

And the third step concludes when you’ve completed the list and sent it to your partner by 8 a.m.

The whole thing should take you 15 to 30 minutes. Do this daily for 30 days.

“But Philip, I don’t have that kind of time in the morning!”

Then you’re full of it and never were going to do anything to begin with—conversation over. But I know you. That ain’t you, because you’re reading this! You wouldn’t be on BiggerPockets if you weren’t an A-player anyway.

Just try it. What do you have to lose?

Word of Warning: What NOT to Do

I’ve encountered masochistic self-saboteurs who deviate from the script, make stuff up, write new lists every day, write less than 10 commands, or scribble down more than 15. Some are terrified of putting themselves in that spot, thinking they don’t deserve it.

Just do it, and do it the right way.

What I tell people is, “Pretend someone has annexed your brain and is writing your commands through you, for you. If it were someone bold writing them for you, what would they say?”

Avoid the temptation to shoot for ridiculous, unquantifiable, nonsensical commands like, “I am happy by August 1.” You can’t quantify happiness. Even if you could, that’s not the point of all this.

So, make sure you choose things that are truly quantifiable.

Why Is This Effective?

Visualization is a huge component of this. Again, plenty of scientific research supports the practice of visualization, especially among Olympic athletes.

You see, you visualize every moment you’re awake. The visual, sensory images you see are what shape your reality.

But here’s what’s interesting: the subconscious mind cannot distinguish between real and not real. So, something as simple as closing your eyes and seeing a reality you’d prefer is enough to actually make that mental visual real.

Like I said in the intro, my nephew and I even visualized and manifested a trip to the World Cup by speaking of it as if it had already happened. No one thought he would make it! Just read any article leading up to that year’s World Cup. Or check my Instagram feed.

We spoke of it as if it were already real.

This is why this technique works. That’s all I’m going to say about it for now.

Yes, I know it sounds crazy, a little wacky. You can choose to believe it or not. Whether you do believe is irrelevant. I couldn’t care less, to be honest.

But I’m telling you, this here is the way you manifest whatever it is you want. It will transform your life. I’ll bet on it.

In fact, I’ll do you one better. If you do this for 30 days and you don’t see any benefits, I’ll buy you a beer or a coffee or give you 30 days of free mentoring. I’ll drop and give you 30 pushups. Whatever you say.
