Matthew T. MacFarland is an author and CPA specializing in tax strategies for real estate, self-directed investing, and individual tax planning for over 20 years. He’s also been investing in real estate over 10 years with a focus on long-term hold residential and multifamily assets.

Experience
As both a tax strategist and real estate investor, Matt specializes in the development of tax strategies for real estate investors across the nation. His focus includes retirement investing, entity structuring, expense maximization, and income offset strategies to help reduce investors’ tax burden.

Formerly, Matt was employed as a tax advisor at the prestigious accounting firm Deloitte in the High Net-Worth Individuals Tax Group, focusing on tax strategies for the real estate industry.

His highly rated book Tax Strategies for the Savvy Real Estate Investor is amongst Amazon’s bestseller list.

Matt is a frequent educator and speaker to some of the nation’s top retirement investment companies, real estate clubs, and apartment investment organizations.

He is an avid animal lover. Along with his wife Amanda Han, they founded Animals for Armed Forces, a non-profit organization that has helped to place over 1,800 shelter pets with forever homes.
