Chiagozie earned a bachelor’s of science with high honors from Howard University and an M.D. from Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. She did her residency training (in anesthesiology) at SUNY Downstate Medical Center and fellowship training (pediatric anesthesiology) at the University of Rochester Medical Center.

She is certified by the American Board of Anesthesiologists and has an additional subspecialty certification in Pediatric Anesthesiology.
