So you could give examples based on a number of different income assumptions, i.e. if your income is currently $X (placing you in tax bracket Y), then your tax obligation would be $Z if I pay you in one lump sum, or $Q (which is hopefully much lower than $Z) if I pay you over a period of 30 years.

Just creates a lot of additional work for you.If you're worried about loans in the future (assuming rental property) then doing work yourself and not paying yourself will look much better on your tax return and to lenders.If you're marketing to private money investors and saying "hey, I'm making X%, invest your money with me at Y%", then you probably want to explain to them that if you had to start paying contractors for services the X% would really be Z% and here's how it would affect the Y% I'm promising you.Ultimately, your profits are not artificially high when you do your own work.

If you provide the loan for personal use and with co-borrowers, like to me and my LLC, that will muddy the waters.There is also the tendency to classify to the more restrictive side, if it's questionable it will usually go to the category that is the most prudently represented which is more restrictive.Caution needs to be taken in assuming that if X or Y is present, the result will be Z, especially when the transaction will be viewed in its totality and when consideration can be given to intent or circumventing the SAFE Act.The SAFE Act was written with the broadest interpretation allowed of any financial regulation I have ever seen.
