Their lease ended 7/31/20 and they refused to get the move out walk through. we started showing the unit 2 months before the end of the lease and every time the unit was in horrible condition dirty and smelling bad. we know that we can deduct all damages from the security deposit. but we are wondering if we can deduct anything else as the NJ contract states that they need to have the apartment in clean and neat condition. we still dont have a lease in place and that is due to the condition of the unit while we were showing it. we have pictures and videos of the condition.

I've been reading The Book on Rental Property Investing, listening to BP podcasts, and watching YouTube videos in an effort to learn as much as I can about real estate investing before getting into the game...but I've realized the best way to learn is by actually doing.I'm currently entering my final year in college, so the plan is to build my knowledge base next year so that I can hit the ground running when I save enough money.
