@Tingjun Lei I would put a cage around it, and I would install fake cameras with battery operated blinking red lights at the doors and above the outdoor condenser to at least make it look like you have a camera.

I think the crux of the matter, however, is the fact that if I'm break-even on paper before vacancy and repairs (and management fee, which I'd seek to avoid at least in large part), I might be deep in the red every year (but probably not more than principal accretion).

Let me just level with you: if someone came to me saying how awesome their dog was, but was resistant to paying extra and resistant to having me come view their current living space unannounced that would be a huge red flag that I might not want this dog in my property.
