Your gall is astounding.

The IRS rules prevent you from converting a primary residence to an investment property, then claiming a tax loss on the sale, effectively converting a non-deductible personal loss to a deductible investment loss.. 

Also, FHA has an obscure guideline to prevent job hoppers from getting a loan.  

This prevents resentment and hostility from (possibly) building up over who's turn it is to do or clean what.
