It makes me literally angry that more people do not understand the power of real estate and other "alternative investments" (hate that term) I can make more than 7% in my lending club account with auto pilot on and I now consider this a moderate return.

The alternative is that an annual power wash with a high pressure sprayer will keep them looking good.

Hello, If you use all of your $ that you have for buying a house then when something unexpected comes up?

I just suggest it because its something I've done for four summers previous (but not this summer) and because of that I feel like I have more investing power than my peers because of it.

My reasoning is that you need to be able to handle the unexpected.
