You can buy the cheap wireless set where you are replacing batteries or get what you pay for and get a good system.I recommend and use Digital Watchdog cameras and software.

Typical US strategies of rentals and/or flips are very difficult, with the high price of the properties, rental yields are very low, and renovating properties is difficult with taxes and duties unless you live in them as well...Growth though is extremely strong, we are still seeing some areas with double digit growth, so as an investor, if you have access to buy and hold property with good land content, we are seeing 8-10%+ growth each year, coupled with being leveraged, this can give excellent returnsCheersLindsay

I put enough in to be above the "no annual fee" $10k level and have about $11,600 in there now returning in the low-mid 6% range (adjusted for late notes) after coming down from double digits a few years ago.

If you get a quality system that you can configure to record on motion or all the time with high quality cameras that you will never have to change batteries on I think you will be much happier.My digital watchdog cameras cost between $250 and $500.
