Those as part of private equity, I am less sure.What I am essentially saying is that Wall Street got interested in main street and bought up on a massive scale single family homes (often in foreclosure) and through partners or subsidiaries managed them (or sold them off).

@Mark FedorovWhat they are trying to do is stop the trending practice of some of the LARGER Corporations from getting away from paying taxes by moving their headquarters to tax heavens, then "Loaning" the US Subsidiary money, therefore incurring a huge tax deduction, against their US Profits.

IIRC Wells Fargo actually runs their own AMC as a wholly owned subsidiary that they use, so basically they price the rate/terms/risk out where they want, and magically how conservative or liberal the appraisal is just coincidentally always happens to match the risk/reward they wanted from the get-go.
