(OK, maybe a possibility on some Caribbean island, but that has a whole additional set of issues.)  

I have plans to create a retail African/Caribbean import store inside my salon which the space has been built but haven't had a chance to stock the merchandise in it yet while I'm too busy servicing clients.

He's a real piece of work, but part of the SF political carnival....errr...scene.

In my area, coastal / Caribbean works very well.

I am an investor (with other partners) in Mexico, on the Caribbean coast.

The rear addition which faces south in south florida was ridiculously hot.wound up putting in two mini splits.cost mini split x 2 840.00Parts and labor which included 2 30 amp fuses, wire and breaker box 1600 installed.way more efficient than my two condenser/ handler units.I saw the electric bill drop and tenants are happy.look up McCool mini splits on YouTube.I figure if it can keep a house Ice Cold in the Caribbean why not Florida. 

I have explored this idea in the Caribbean and South America a few times and never pulled the trigger as it was too much headache. 

@David Begley  we love cabo its super easy for us to get there being that we don't have to go through a time zone.. and people in LA and San Deigo its a no brainer 2 hour flight.. kind of like going from Miami to any of the Caribbean islands.
