Connecting with BiggerPockets Members
This year I have had over 70 personal conversations with people on BP, not even counting the people who e-mail me outside of BP. I can’t imagine the stats for more active BP users.
The most common themes are questions about low income landording, requesting a copy of my scoring system, and questions about investing in the Longview area.
This week a guy who lives an hour south, who I’ve met face-to-face to drive around Longview, and who is waiting to find his first deal, sent me two more addresses of properties that fit his criteria. I love driving by houses and providing feedback, I really miss the days of shopping for our won properties.
I was also contacted by an investor, also an hour away, who had a lead on a property in my zip code. I was able to tell him heck no, save him some time, and point him to another neighborhood to meet his criteria with less headaches. If I say heck no to it, you know it’s bad!
I would still love to get to a BP Meet-up this year, either in Seattle or Portland, if my crazy life would let up a bit to allow that travel time. In the meantime, I also love virtually connecting with people. That’s what BP is all about!

Sounds great! How do you count how many people who have contacted you? I get contacted several times a week either through BP or through my personal email. Most people ask me for advice, want to partner with me, or want me to sell my properties to them.

Hi, Dawn! Funny that people want to buy your properties, seems like it is the way you mange them rather than the properties themselves is where your success lies. Although, us west coasters are very jealous of the mid west RE economics. I don't have an easy way to tally how many people I have contacting me, I just did a quick manual count from the BP website e-mail.
