Integrity! Do you have it?...

Integrity - this word and personality trait has been on the forefront of my mind over the past several days. Brian and I are partners in both business and life and I believe one thing that brought us together and has kept us together for almost seven years is that we both have strong integrity. We mean what we say and we say what we mean.

It is difficult, anymore, to find people that possess this trait. You meet people in business that you think have integrity and when you get to closing the deal it has changed 160 degrees. I see this not only in our business dealings but in our world as a whole; just look at our government.

It may sound naive but whatever happened to the hand-shake deal that we saw our fathers execute everyday in their business dealings? Whatever happened to a person's word is golden? It seems that its all about money and what am "I" going to get. Why can't people reverse their thinking and say what can I do for YOU? And, be happy for the ability to do something for someone else. I know we all need to make a living so that we can take care of our families but why can't we make money and help people at the same time rather than stabbing them in the back.

It seems that people are obsessed with themselves and what they will get or not get. Don't people know that integrity is the act of being complete and whole. Once you are complete and whole what else is could you want or need? So, instead of looking at your next deal with what can I get out of this? Or, how much time is this going to take me? Or, when is this deal going to be done so that I can get my money and run? Why don't you ask, how can I help this person? How can I make this person's life just a little bit better? Why not decide I am going to stick with this person and this deal until the ultimate goal is complete? Why not have a little integrity? If you did I can guarantee you that your life and your world will be a little more lovely!

Many Blessings,
Nancy
