300,000 Forum Posts and Counting at BiggerPockets.com!

Today marks a very special date in the history of BiggerPockets . . . the day we crossed the 300,000 real estate forum post milestone!

Our forums have helped millions of viewers over the 6 years+ that they have been up and running.  Our members have used them to ask and answer questions, to find money/financing for deals, to find partners, to market themselves and their businesse, and much more!  The media has even used the forums on several occasions to find sources for their stories.

Over much of that time, there has been one guy who has helped me to manage the forums, Jon Holdman. Jon has been a moderator for many years now, and brings wisdom, calm, and an un-paralleled analytical brain to the forums.  He deserves thanks not only from me, but from anyone else who gains value from the forums.  I want to thank Jon and everyone else who has helped us over the years.

That said, I also must thank our incredible members for your participation.  We're now producing over 400 forum posts on some days, and the quality of answers that are provided are truly second to none.  The enthusiasm that our members have shown on the forums is unbelievable, and the willingness to help one another blows my mind.

I truly believe that there is no question too difficult or challenge that cannot be met by the collective experience and brainpower of the BiggerPockets forum community.

Moving Forward to the Next Milestone

It took over 5 years to reach 200,000 forum posts and just over one to add an additional 100,000.  I know that there are still so many questions left to be asked and answered, and so many deals left to be made, that we'll continue to see this place grow at levels unimagined when I first started BiggerPockets. Frankly, as many of you know, I was just looking for some help for some of my own investing questions when I started this place, but when people saw the philosophy and energy present here, they began to come.

We never gave in to the mentality that real estate investors must count on "gurus" to educate themselves, but could rely on the experiences of one another to grow themselves and their businesses.  The people have spoken, and I believe that the investment world at large is in agreement.

I expect to see 400,000 forum posts by year's end, if not much sooner, and I believe that we're going to be seeing the vast audience of BiggerPockets grow very quickly in the coming months.  We've got some really great ideas planned to help improve your overall experience on the forums and site in general, but also ideas which will improve the way you do business.

If you haven't done so already, please do your part and help spread the word about the site and our forums.  Tell people about us on Facebook, Twitter, by email, through word of mouth -- invite people to join you and the collective community that is BiggerPockets so that we can all expand, not only our knowledge but also the dealmaking opportunities that are present here!

Quick Note to Our Newer Members:

One of the best ways to grow your business and network here on BiggerPockets is to get active on the forums.  Those of our members who are the most active are also the ones that are doing business as a result of the site.  Over the years, this has always been the case!  If you are active, then you are visible.  If you are visibile, then people will feel more comfortible with you and will likely want to connect.  Once that happens, the business opportunities really take off!  So . . . get out there and start getting involved!

Parting Words . . .

It has been my honor to play a role in your successes.  Thank you for visiting.

Please come back again soon, bring your friends, and jump on the forums and get involved!

All My Best,

Josh

  1. I am addicted to this site and am glad to be a small part of the ongoing success. Best wishes on continued success Josh....this site is truly amazing and second to none.

  2. There are 10 names listed with post counts....what is the total of the top 20% of posters Josh? It would be interesting to see if that was 80% of the total post count.

  3. I'm sure the 80/20 rule applies to the forums here, as it does to most other things in life, Wil. Thanks Marc! That and guys like you spreading the word is key to our growth and success!

  4. Congratulations on another milestone Josh and BiggerPockets. BP will continue to grow because it is impossible to keep such a great resource a secret.

  5. Yeah....well you better keep posting! I am closing in on you a bit Will :-)

  6. I just noticed that Josh, Jon and I combine for approx. 25,000 of the 300k forum posts(or 8.3%). Nice job fellas.

  7. Thanks Will!

  8. BP Nation is by far, second to none in our field. As Josh stated, make sure you connect your BP profile with Facebook so that when you start a new thread or post a bulletin, it automatically makes a post of Facebook for you. This feature spreads the word without you having to do much. Then do the same on Likedin, twitter and other sites where possible. As BP nation grows, so do our benefits and resources!

  9. That would be great, Charles. If our members and visitors would do their part in spreading the word, along with our efforts, I'm sure we can make it happen! Thank you for all of your participation.

  10. Great news. The forums provide a great way for all members to share, ask questions and generally get to know one another. Glad to see lots of newer faces as well as the many familiar and regular posters. Perhaps that next 100K milestone can be completed in under 6 months. :)

  11. Thanks guys. Stay tuned, Loc . . .

  12. When do we get options on the IPO?

  13. I am addicted to this site and am glad to be a small part of the ongoing success. Best wishes on continued success Josh....this site is truly amazing and second to none.

  14. Josh, you've created the platform for a fantastic community and body of knowledge and wisdom. And Jon Holdman, thank you for all the work you've put in over the years.
