Trouble getting insurance prior to close
I am in the middle of closing my first ever deal on a SFR. I am using a fixed-rate, 30 year conventional mortgage that requires me to get homeowners insurance. My insurance agent, however, says I cannot get insurance until I repair everything that was an issue on the inspection. Is this a typical scenario? How is it possible to get insurance prior to making the needed repairs?
