Does anyone have recommendations as far as a GREAT insurance broker in the Charleston area? I’m a new investor looking to build my team of knowledgeable professionals. I worked with an insurance broker in the past, but I found that his quotes were not the lowest, and it was impossible to get a hold of anyone in his office when I needed something or had questions. Overall, it was a frustrating experience. I’m looking for a broker with friendly, knowledgeable, and responsive staff. I would also like to work with an individual who will stay organized and be continually shopping to find me the lowest rates for my personal and future rental properties. Thanks!
@Robert West I use REIGuard for my investment properties. Their policies aren't the absolute best, but they cater exclusively to investors, so their prices are great and they are very familiar experienced in working with folks like us. The ease of use is also quite nice because they do everything online.
I don't have a great personal broker, but I'll definitely keep my eye out on this post to see some other people's recommendations.
Didn't know if you had your personal property insured through a separate agency. Does REIGuard offer any kind of discount the more properties you've insured through them?
I'm always happy to compare rates. So far I've found Taylor Agency to have consistently good rates but I still always shop around. I suggest making copies of the dec pages of all your policies and emailing them to multiple agencies to compare. That way you should be getting an apples to apples comparison.
