Recommended insurance type for large number of properties

I have 83 properties with a renewing insurance policy looming. For years I've felt I have been wasting far too much on premiums.  I'm wondering if anyone out there has a good recommendation on a bare bones type of policy that essentially covers for catastrophic losses only. My broker always tells me the price that I'm paying know is not much more than a bare bones policy. Any thoughts are appreciated.

Thanks,

Jared

Jared,

In my experience your broker is right.  I've had homeowners, investors etc all ask about this over the years and everytime I get them the quotes it's really no help.  Not to sound redundant but have you just looked at raising your deductibles some?  If you're only worried about BIG claims this may be a way to say that extra you're looking for.
