What Are The Most Valuable & Important Activities Of A Successful Investor?

I think any experienced investor can agree - there is a seemingly infinite number of things that can distract us from making money in real estate. The kicker is - these things almost always seem to be parading around as "valuable activities" (when they're actually the complete opposite).

For example:

  • Building up a following on Facebook or Twitter
  • Spending thousands of dollars on a company logo, business card, letter head & a pretty website
  • Buying books and courses on how to improve your business
  • Spending hours at networking events that don't lead to any tangible results, etc.

These things may have value on some level - but there isn't a direct correlation to the money we make. These things may belong somewhere on our "To Do" list, but not at the top.

At the end of the day, I think there is actually a pretty short list of things that we NEED to be spending our time on (aka - these are the things that actually make money).

Given this, I thought I'd post this question to the BP crowd:

If you only had 5 hours per week to work on your real estate business - what would you say are the most important task(s) that you should be spending these precious few hours doing?
