What's the Best Marketing Options for Finding Wholesale Deals?

Admittedly new to this...but it seems clear that the MLS holds few options for finding valuable properties for wholesaling. I'm researching direct mail and targeted email campaigns but wonder if I've overlooked something important. Any thoughts from successful wholesalers on marketing tactics that I should consider? Thanks in advance for your thoughts.
