Help tracking/printing direct mail

I'm making a shift into a direct mail campaign.  I have been driving for dollars for the past couple weeks.  I have been taking down home info and putting into and Excel sheet.  Would anyone be willing to share a way they track leads (aside from a paid CRM program)?.  I would love to get into Podio or something similar, but for now its me and 'ole Excel.  I ask because my stamps, printed letters and envelopes are still cheaper than online services.  I am wanting to know the best way to simply "output" my leads to a mail printing program or letter printing program in order to more quickly get these letter out aside from hand writing hundreds of addresses monthly?  I am looking for other ways outside of yellowletter.com type stuff.  Any suggestions are welcomed.

thanks
