Wholesaler vs. realtor
A couple thongs here. I was talking with an advisor the other day and told him I had decided to get into real estate. I told him I have been doing some research and mentioned an interest in wholesaling after hearing about it but that I needed to do more research into it b/c I didn't know a whole lot about it. After explaining it to him (as I understood it) he asked me what the difference was between a wholesaler and a Realtor. And I realized I didn't really know. I know a Realtor has a license and a wholesaler doesn't. My understanding is a wholesaler basically brings a property under contract to a buyer for a fee. So the only differences I can see is that one is licensed and does not bring a property to a buyer that they have under contract. He then proposed I should just get licensed and earn the commission. I am already considering getting licensed, for the learning experience if nothing else. If I do, can I still wholesale? Or would I be able to make better money from a realtor's commissions?
