Is the Facebook group for FF necessary?
I've been doing LTR for a few years but wanted to try MTR in one unit as I had such great success renting to medical professionals over the years.
I furnished my upper unit in a duplex which is within 5 minutes of a hospital known to use a lot of travelers. I paid FF their fee and listed my place. I then asked to join the FB group and got denied. Disappointing because that's my main source of tenants for LTR.
Should I keep trying to get into that FB group or do you think it's not necessary?
Thanks in advance!

I'm not sure why you would've gotten denied so I'd try again. Just read their rules carefully and agree to them and you should be accepted. That said, I don't think it's necessary to be on the FB group in order to promote your property, but it doesn't hurt. Just be prepared because if your pricing is out of line for what travelers get paid, they will skewer you mercilessly on the FB page. As brutal as that is, it IS a good gauge of what you're target audience is thinking and how applicable your property is to the guest avatar you're trying to attract. I do see lots of well priced properties that get a lot of interest from people asking if it's available for their dates. The other common thing is travelers will post a picture of themselves (and usually their pet) and say 'I have a contract starting X date in X city and am looking for something in X price range that is pet friendly. Does anyone have a property that meets this requirement?' So that gives you an opportunity to respond if you happen to be a match. Again, it's not essential. It's just another tool for you to use. Beyond the "official" FF facebook page there are dozens or hundreds of other FB pages for travelers. Travel Nurse Gypsy Housing is a popular one. Or look for more regional ones like Norcal Travel Nurse Housing, etc.
