Buying my first investment property

Hi everyone, looking for advice as I look to purchase my first investment property! I will start off by talking a little bit about myself. I am 22 years old and I live with my parents in nothern Ontario, Canada.  I work full-time at the local hospital as a rehab assistant. I have been interested in real estate for many years now, I see it as a way to financial freedom. I love learning about real estate and I am very passionate about it. My plan is to buy a starter home for myself, where I would live upstairs and then rent out the other unit/floor. I see house hacking as a way to continue to build my capital, allowing myself to purchase a second property faster. My goal is to build a large real estate portfolio and to reach finacial freedom.  This process is very intimidating for me, any advice would be greatly appreciated to make this process go smoother.

Thank You.
