Can i ask for a tenant to verify child support in Colorado

Looking for some guidance. Am I allowed to ask a tenet to verify child support payments if they put that on their lease application in CO?

From my understanding we can request all income to be verified. You cannot discriminate against the origin of the income and if there are vouchers involved income should make up the remainder of rent due not covered by the voucher. I would say this is a valid request if they are using this as income to meet your rental screening qualifications. Also, keep in mind your criteria and process need to be consistent for all applicants. If you request such data from this applicant you must do so for all others across your portfolio.  Best of Luck!
