Using LLC to Manage a Property Owned by an Individual

Andreas S.
Posted

Hi all,

If I own a property through a conventional mortgage that is in my own name, am I still able to "manage" the property through an LLC? For example, if I use an LLC for the lease, bank account for collecting rent, communications, etc. but the LLC does not actually own the property, do I still get the benefits of the LLC? If not, is there anyway to do this besides "selling" it to the LLC which at the moment is not an option?

I already have an LLC one setup because at one time, I had planned on buying the property with it but decided to just get one in my name instead and I am trying to see if there is still a use for it or if I should just shut it down. Thank you for your time.
