Marketing help!!
Hi everyone,
I'm gearing up to start a huge marketing campaign, bigger than I've ever done. I'm hoping to get some advice on the pieces that I'm using, I'm afraid that if I choose the wrong piece it'll be a big waste of money.
My plan is this:
1st round - Postcard: I heard Tom Kroll talk about an urgent notice houses wanted postcard from yellowletters.com on his podcast as one of his marketing pieces. So I grabbed this one and went with it. I really like the instruction on his podcast and he gets great results with his students, so I would like to emulate some of the things he does.
But I'm hesitant to use this for some reason, perhaps some experienced marketers can chime in?
2nd round - Yellow letter: Just your basic "I want to buy your property at [address]" yellow letter. I'm pretty confident in this. Seems to be a classic.
3rd round - Brandon's letter: I saw Brandon Turner post a version of his letter and I took that and used it for my last campaign, had good results with it, so I'll be going with it again. It'll have my logo on the top, and it's similar to the yellow letter but on white paper with some different wording and a little longer than your traditional yellow letter.
4th round - Not really sure where to go from here to be honest. I have another postcard that had mediocre results last time I used it that I also took from yellowletters.com. Thoughts on this one?
5th-7th rounds - No clue. At this point should I repeat some letters? Should I change the wording? I'm not sure how that should work. Last time I repeated the same letter without changing it, 3 times in a row. By the 3rd time, the responses really dwindled. So I'm thinking I should change the wording somewhat on the 5th round and beyond if I plan on repeating any previous letters?
So yeah, would love to hear the thoughts of an experienced marketer. Any other marketing pieces that have worked well for you? Any and all input is greatly appreciated! Would love to get a good discussion going on all things direct mail related! I will keep this thread updated with campaign results. Thanks everyone!
