Post-its - Anybody use them?

Hello,

I received a great CD in the mail from a mentor group pitching their services. They called the CD "Killer Conversations". It was several people from all over being interviewed at what sounded like a boot camp. Many of the REI's mentioned Post-it notes as one area of marketing. It sounds like they either hand write or pre-print notes on post its, they say something like "Hi - I want to buy your house! Please call XXX-XXXX"

It sounded cool, like something that might reach a pre-foreclosure seller- even one that has gotten numerous letters in the mail. Or, just blanket a neighborhood. The REI's said they paid kids or whoever to stick them on the door of houses, almost as if a friend just dropped by and stuck a friendly note saying hi!

One guy mentioned that he hired a man who hangs pizza delivery flyers on doors in neighborhoods for a living - makes about $50K! He had that guy, who was already going door to door, take his sticky notes with him and place those as well on each door. Creative!

Has anyone done this successfully or something like it? Am considering all marketing ideas at this point. Thanks,
