Criminal background and credit checks

Jonathan Lahr
Posted

What does everyone use to perform their own criminal background checks and credit checks on potential tenants during the screening/application process? What are the costs? Are the results issued immediately?

@Jonathan Lahr I use MySmartMove. I use the $42.99 option and bill it to the prospective tenant. I wait to do this until I have narrowed it down to a final candidate. The response time is very quick once they have filled out the application.

Because I am generous and respectful of the fact that money is very tight where I live I usually credit the cost towards the first months rent assuming the application is approved.
