Dear BP members, I am interested in buying farmland. I have someone who will manage the property for me, and he will be partnering with me on raising cattle. I have never bought farmland. What are the things I should consider? Please guide me

@Anas Athar   It is a tough business in Texas these days....many big operators have reduced their holdings of cattle.  For the smaller guys you may be able to stretch out a small profit, but it is not easy.  Just lots of bottlenecks now.  For example processing once your done raising can be a challenge.   Be prepared to operate as a hobby, not a profitable business.

But maybe you get lucky.  You buy and raise specialty breeds like Waygu or maybe Longhorns.

Buy land because you want to live on it or speculate for future profits, or you enjoy being outdoors, but as far as the cattle raising, be careful out there.
