First Investment Duplex in Columbus, OH

Investment Info:

Small multi-family (2-4 units) buy & hold investment.

Purchase price: $250,000
Cash invested: $16,000

My first investment property is in a rapidly developing area in Columbus, OH. The neighborhood (Southern Orchards) is within walking distance of Nationwide Children's Hospital which has continued to build and expand within the area. With that, an influx of hospital workers wanting to live in the area has resulted in this neighborhood starting to gentrify.

What made you interested in investing in this type of deal?

I wanted to start building equity in a growing city like Columbus where the market is picking up. I know duplexes are great as they have cash flow opportunity and with this being off-market I had an edge when negotiating with the seller.

How did you find this deal and how did you negotiate it?

My partner Remington Lyman helped me find this deal.

How did you finance this deal?

I financed this using a conventional loan with only 3% down !

Did you work with any real estate professionals (agents, lenders, etc.) that you'd recommend to others?
