How to Value a home in a non-disclosure state/remote area

Hey BP Members,

I’m living in Fairbanks, Alaska. It’s a smaller market, and a non-disclosure state. That being said, comps on websites like Zillow don’t show the prices that they sold for.

How would you go about understanding the value of homes that you want to purchase, without being able to see those recent sales prices?

Any advice is welcome, and thanks!!

I think you'd need to enlist the help of a local Realtor. I'm not sure how else you'd obtain that information on your own. Ask them to set you up with a daily or weekly MLS feed for properties that fit your criteria so you can start to get a feel for what things are listed for. Most are more than happy to do this for a prospective client if you're a serious buyer.
