Building an apartment building!

I found a beautiful plot of land in northern Kentucky with an amazing view of the city, this question is super generic and depends on a lot of factors but:

how much does it cost to build a 3 story 5000sq ft building that's not a killer for insurance with balconies?!

Does anyone have any success building like this?

I know the big companies usually swoop up this kind of land and offer custom homes but I think a nice apartment building could work I'm just not sure about the math.

Any other advice?!

My advice would be to get the land under contract and partner up with another investor that has experience that can guide you through the process. I'm going through a similar situation in southern Indiana. I have the land and the idea, now I'm just searching for the right people to help me through it since this is my first development deal. Better to lose some equity but learn a lot than try and do it yourself and lose it all!

Cheers,
