Went to a local REIA Club meeting

I went to a local REIA meeting and met local investors, realtors, and other vendors. Overall I felt the REIA meeting was very disorganized and the people there seems to be pretty shady with inconstant stories and very vague responses. Pretty disappointed. I am in Central Jersey. Any suggestions where to go from here? I am in central Jersey.
