Investing in Moncton NB

We live in Victoria BC and when we were on a business trip in 2018, we looked at realestate in Moncton. The low prices were quite shocking to us and when we bought a large, six bedroom Duplex on Highfield street, we had to keep asking if the price included both units! It just seemed so impossible but it did include both units. After buying the house we renovated the empty attic space which was just a wasted space not being used. We also added a bathroom and shower and a laundry room up there. I guess what I am trying to say is that Moncton offers amazing value even today. (In 2021) We have used a wonderful property management company and never missed a months rent. Good tenants are like gold. That's why we rent at slightly below rental value. People look after the property when they are getting a good deal.

At some point we will sell as we are now retired. Overall.....investing in a duplex has been an extremely positive experience and we would recommend the idea completely. Property management is key. Make the trip out there and see the place. Make sure it is in a nice area. Get to know the city.
