Keela ChambersI think we need a little more context regarding meeting new investors. Will you be meeting them at a Real Estate Investors group meeting? If so, casual business attire. I know the group I belong to is very casual and we have people come in suits and tie and others in shorts and t-shirts. Some are agents, attorneys, etc. and some are Rehabbers flippers and property managers. I think you attire would depend on the situation. You can never over dress, but can underdress. If you're not sure you can nevr go wrong by dressing conservatively. I hope this helps.

My contractors refer to me as "the flip-flop guy"...if I show up some place without flip-flops, it's because someone either died or got married... :)

Improper foot wear on the job site means you will get booted! Make sure you keep your tetanus shots up to date.
Really depends on the area we show up once a month for a formal dinner, never know which weekly meeting it will be at the Tower Club, so I just wear my tux. After I know the dinner is over with for that month, I'll revert to proper yachting attire without my capitans hat.
Now, if I get out of the cultural center of SW Missouri, jeans and a T-shirt with real shoes will get you in most resturants. If you want to impress them, take a shower and wear some after shave... :)
But in your area, I'm sure casual dress would be fine, leave the coat at home....LOL
Business casual is best, unless it's really hot outside, then clean preppy shorts and a polo shirt is fine.
Don't dress like you're heading to a beach volleyball game, unless you don't want to be taken seriously, and don't dress like this fellow unless you want to get mobbed by every wholesaler in the room. ;-)

I tend to show up in my paint stained jeans and newest and best Fruit of the Loom t shirt. The wholesalers will mob that attire too.

Well, I'm a new comer and I hope I can get at least 1 house under my belt for the next summit meetup. That being said, I'm going to wear exactly what I like, my usual, casual clothing. I like to be myself :D
I enjoyed all the answers and I wore a mustard colored button up (pretty dress) and some slacks. It went very well and I met alot of interesting people. It was in Raleigh, NC.
