When Blogging... Where do you begin?

Devon Cornwall

Hey BP,

This is a question for all the newbies like me floating around. How does one go about starting a blog?

How do you choose topics to write about? Do I just start it off and work my way through?

For example, I am currently writing my business plan (it is probably 6 pages long) and I have hit stumbling blocks and really dug into the nuances. Do I simply share my learning of those nuances in one place for the next person to read and follow?

Can anyone help me with referrals of site hosts they use, or even of people they have contacted that do website building at reasonable prices.

Thanks in advance,

What are your goals with the blog?

Who is your target audience?

Are using the blog as a lead source to drive traffic to your website and capture motivated seller leads?

Or are you writing a blog to establish yourself as an authority in a certain niche or market?

Once you figure our what your goals are and who your target audience is, you should create a content strategy that will target keywords that specific audience is looking for on Google.
