Help with Google Voice

Hello Bigger Pockets members, I may have gotten myself in a little bit of a pickle with google voice. I set up a number and tied it to my cell phone number (it’s a work phone so I want to use google voice). I listened to a book on wholesaling where the author said it’s really important to have an easy to read and remember number with consecutive digits and so forth. Mine is not, so I went in to try to change it. 

I couldn’t figure out how to change it so I deleted my number and tried to add a new one. First off, it only allows me to select my previous number. Secondly, and this is the real problem, when I try to tie it to my cellphone number and verify it says something like “unable to verify”. I’ve tried different browsers, logging out, everything I can think of but it never allows me to tie the number to my cell phone number again. 

This is the problem, does anyone know how to fix this or know any alternatives to Google voice?
