Excellent App: Boomerang for Gmail

(FYI: I have NO affiliation, or equity for this app. It has just been very helpful as a set and forget tool, so I thought I would share.)

I know I am late to the game with the Boomerang app, since it's been around for a while., but I'll share it with the other tech-dinosaurs like myself. Boomerang is a "set-it and forget-it" app, and there are two key functions that I have been using every day in the past month:

  • 1) Schedules emails for a later date. So if you are trying to follow-up with a motivated seller, tenant, attorney, RE agent, or anyone that might need several reminders Boomerang will schedule future emails for you, and you can have it only send a reply if you haven't received one back for the person you are trying to communicate with. I also like to send emails early in the morning (between 7am - 9am) so it ends up at the top of someone's inbox when many people check emails and I believe is a higher response rate (of course not Tim Ferris').
  • 2) It takes the email out of your inbox and sends it back to you at a later date of your choice. I like my inbox pretty lien, so I will "boomerang" back an email if it's not relevant at the moment. So for example if you received an email from someone to do something (worker, tenant, spouse, etc.) and you are busy at the moment, and you might forget about it later, you can boomerang it back to you later that evening, next day/month, etc.

One of the cons is that you have a limit on the Boomerangs" per month - I believe it's ten but you can get more by tweeting a shout out. The personal plan is $5/month, I haven't bought the bullet yet, but probably will soon. I won't post any links here, but there is a YouTube video that describes it well which you can find pretty quickly.

Hope this is helpful.
