Carlton Sheets
Tried to respond to a Carlton Sheets thread, but had trouble finding it once I created my account. Here are my thoughts. Carlton Sheets was prominent on tv in the late 80's and early 90's and I used to enjoy watching that informercial! I eventually bought the course and CD upgrade when that became available. I believe Carlton's methods did work in the late 70's and early 80's. Having spent time as a mortgage loan officer, I know that regulations for lending are constantly evolving and changing, usually becoming more strict as time goes on. I consider Carlton a great cheerleader for the beginning real estate investor. While attempting to sell his course, he demonstrates how someone who is motivated for a change in their lives, how they can make that change happen. Carlton gives the beginner a good training in real estate practices and principles, which some argue don't really apply to today's world. The materials are dated probably 25 to 35 years by now. The cheerleading message is still there though. I have probably spent less then $300 on Carlton Sheets materials in my lifetime. Some of the current guru's charge $6,000 to $35,000 and I find that disgusting. To each his own though. If this works for you then good for you. If you go on eBay Carlton's material can be purchased for little money and there is surely something you can get out of his training that will save you at least $300 if you pursue REI. Cheers to Carlton for letting the average man or woman know that they can do this sort of thing also.
