Ok folks I have been a independent investigator for 20 years now. One thing that holds true is that about 95% of the time what people are selling you in order for you to make more money doesn't work in the real world. If it worked the people would not be selling it and instead would be doing it, retired, and living on a beach, in a mansion, or on a yacht somewhere not trying to get $10-$50k out of you to teach you how to do it!
Here are the most common scams floating around right now..
1. Real estate get rich quick schemes. These always ask for money up front with promises to make you rich. 9 times out of 10 they take you money first, then waste your time for a while, then when you wonder why it doesn't work say you did something wrong, or need to pay them more to learn how to do it right. Either way you still never make money and they have your cash. The less you give them the better. Learning how to do real estate can be done for free by researching online and watching actual investors do it in real life for free. The real professionals will actually help you buy properties as they get paid a fee for the home sale, or loan at the closing, but never pay upfront!
2. Email scams. These vary from a inheritance, money found, emailing you about something you have for sale, or a add you placed online etc. They are classic bait and switch scams. These get you all excited about the easy money coming your way from out of nowhere, or for the business, or things you have for sale online. They always promise you money, but eventually rather than paying you they always ask you for money up front to help make delivery, or process things etc. These are all 100% scams. Nobody who is going to give you money for your things for sale, or your business idea etc is going to need money from you first!
3. Dating web sites. They now use avatars instead of real people. That’s right the dream man, or woman you thought you were getting to know is actually a computer generated picture, or one stolen from elsewhere on the internet. The person your talking to is either a software program, or working in a call/email center in some country that pays them very little for their time like a sweat shop. Sure you may randomly meet that special somebody on a dating site, or free dating site, but beware many of these people are also professional thieves. They are simply trying to date you for money. This is the case 9 times out of 10. They are professional liars and most are high on prescription drugs, illegal drugs, and alcoholics etc.
4. Business investor scams. These promise to look at your business, or idea and get you funding. After making you jump through a lot of hoops and getting you excited they again ask you for money when the whole reason your in contract with them is the opposite and they are supposed to give you money. Its a classic up front fee scam. Once you give them money they simply say your idea wasn't chosen, or didn't qualify for funding. Beware these people will try to ask for more money to submit it to other make believe investors.
5. Bird dog scammers. These are the supposed cash investors for properties who ask you to bring them the best deals. When you bring them the deal they promise a nice fee. Once you give them the address they violate your written, or verbal agreement and buy the home without paying you, or sell it off to somebody they know without paying you. This is very common. Get the property under contract for the longest period of time possible. This way they have to go through you, or risk it being sold to somebody else, or have to wait until your contract expires and possibly face a bidding war.
6. Reverse sales. These are people who call off your advertisements, or items for sale and act interested. They then try to sell you something instead of buy what you have to offer.
7. Lawyers. Most lawyers will promise the world to get you to give them money up front in the form of a retainer. After they have your cash in their bank they then change their tune and say your case is worse then they thought and cant help you etc. They have your money and you have a lawyer simply trying to get the case over with as quickly as possible without much concern for you. Most likely they will tell you to plea guilty to get it over with faster so they can move on to the next person ready to give them money.
8. Buyers be very aware these days 9 times out of 10 your dealing with somebody who has been taught to lie to steal your money. This is a sad fact about modern societies built on lies and hopefully you start treating others as good, or better then you would treat yourself and your own family. This way your no longer a part of the problems, deterioration, and suicide of your societies and you become a part of the solutions. Not thinking ahead is putting nails in your coffin and the coffin of your societies. What good is all the money you stole if in 10 years the nation goes bankrupt from the rampant fraud? What good is all the money you stole if 30 years from now the air is so polluted that you, your children, and grand children can't breath, or swim in the oceans etc? It will have all been for your selfish false temporary gains at the expense of the societies and world you need to live well.
